The Benefits of Green Tea
Growing up in China, I’ve never seen my grandfather stop drinking green tea. Over time I started to wonder, what’s so good about green tea? Sure it tastes better than other teas but is there a real benefit that keeps my grandfather and other people from drinking it everyday, non stop? So to answer my question I decided to do some research, my first start was my grandfather. He is a very well educated man, when ever I wanted to know something he always explains it more than I ask for, usually I found me falling a sleep because of his long speech. This time was no difference. He started with the history of green tea, then to its benefits. I didn’t include its history in this article because I thought it wasn’t really a benefit, so here it is the answer to my question.

Heath Benefits

The Journal of the National Cancer Institute published that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer by 6%. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.

Overall Green Tea’s health benefits are:

  • cancer
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • high cholesterol levels
  • cariovascular disease
  • infection
  • impaired immune function

    Beauty Benefits

Study shows that green tea has more antioxidant properties than chemical antioxidant and vitamins found in traditional cosmetics. Concentrated green tea extract is simple to make at home and is a flexible addition to both your daily beauty routine and your medicine cabinet.

Use green tea to give your mouth a minty smell. Make your own green tea tooth paste to prevent bad breath.
